A high-altitude plateau national park known for the World's End escarpment and Baker's Falls.
Horton Plains is a montane grassland plateau, part of the UNESCO-listed Central Highlands of Sri Lanka. Its best-known feature, World's End, is a sheer escarpment that drops nearly 900 metres — best seen early, before the daily cloud cover rolls in.
The full loop walk also passes Baker's Falls and patches of stunted cloud forest, and is one of the few places in Sri Lanka where the cool, misty highland landscape feels genuinely alpine.

Entry point reached from Nuwara Eliya or the Ohiya side, by road.
Best time to visit
Start the hike by 6–7am — cloud cover typically rolls in by mid-morning.
