Sri Lanka's hill country is a different island from the beaches below — cool mornings, waterfalls, and tea bushes clipped into terraces across every slope. This private tour climbs gradually from Kandy into Nuwara Eliya, the highest town on the island, and on to Ella.
Along the way you'll walk the high plateau of Horton Plains to World's End, see how Ceylon tea is made, and ride the celebrated hill-country railway while your driver takes your luggage ahead by road. The pace leaves room for viewpoints, tea breaks and changes of plan.

Day 1 · Airport → Kandy
A private pickup from the airport or your Colombo hotel and a drive up into the hills. In Kandy, the afternoon is spent around the lake and the city's most important temple.

Day 2 · Kandy → Nuwara Eliya
The road from Kandy climbs past waterfalls and endless tea estates to Nuwara Eliya, a hill station still full of colonial-era buildings.

Day 3 · Horton Plains
A pre-dawn departure reaches Horton Plains National Park as it opens, before the clouds roll in over the escarpment. The loop walk is about 9 km on mostly level ground.

Day 4 · Nanu Oya → Ella
Board the train at Nanu Oya for the most scenic stretch of the hill-country line, while your driver takes your luggage ahead and meets you at Ella station.
Tea estates, tunnels and valley views all the way down to Ella. Seats are subject to availability.

Day 5 · Ella
A final morning of Ella's best walks and viewpoints. The tour ends in Ella — or continue to Yala, the south coast or back to Colombo, arranged on request.
