The route begins in the Cultural Triangle around Dambulla and Sigiriya, where ancient heritage sits alongside nature and village life. From there it climbs into the hills — through Kandy's spice and craft traditions, Nuwara Eliya's tea country, and Ella's mountain scenery, railway landscape and waterfalls, with a second unhurried day built in to enjoy Ella without rushing.
The final stretch follows the south coast through Mirissa and Galle, taking in the coastline and Galle's historic fort, before concluding in Colombo among the city's landmarks.
